Remorse and Contrition

In the Perennial Tradition, initiates (advanced students) work to attain necessary understanding of themselves through contemplating and evaluating their behavior, acknowledging openly to themselves and those whom they have injured in any manner what mistakes of commission and omission they have committed, and genuinely feel remorse for their grievous errors, expressing contrition, remorse, sorrow and regret for their improper or objectionable behavior: actions, thoughts, statements, and feelings. If it is physically impossible to convey remorse to individuals in person and ask their forgiveness, Perennialist initiates express their remorse, apologies, and requests for forgiveness through supersensible psychic transmission.
