Initiation
Into the Mysteries

Beyond the general features provided in this essay, the specifics of initiation cannot be designated because it must be carried out by a Perennialist teacher working with a fully-prepared initiate. As will be seen from the outline below, the initiation phenomenon is very different from what most people assume it to be.

Objective: relaxing the bond by which the spirit is held down by the body
  • To allow the spirit to reunite with the Higher Consciousness
  • To release the spirit from the spell under which it is held in bondage in the body
  • To bring the body and the mind to quiescence
  • To free the Higher Consciousness from the enthrallment of the ego consciousness
  • To reunite the spirit with its lost universality
  • To separate the higher subtle feelings from the gross sense feelings
  • To free the spirit from any misconceptions
  • To allow the spirit to travel to higher realms and commune with Higher Beings
To accomplish this objective requires:
  • The initiate seeking assistance from the teacher
  • Faith in the possibility of accomplishing this objective
  • Fervent desire and consistency of purpose
  • Humility in undertaking such a momentous endeavor
The processes involved include:
  • Entrancing the mind and the senses through:
    • The teacher giving suggestions of passivity and detachment from the mind and the body
    • The initiate meditating on a specified essay or concept
    • The teacher and the initiate communing with Higher Beings

  • Setting the mental framework as the experience of the moment of death followed by rebirth

  • The teacher manipulating the Force Field with his psychic energy and mind

    • To activate the psychic force field within which the initiate resides (this psychic life force is similar in conception to the gravitational and electromagnetic fields in physics)
    • To bring all facets of this life force into harmonious interplay and homeostasis

  • The teacher's psyche leading the initiate's psyche by suggesting actions, feelings, images, persons, and thoughts
